Mach 4.2 – Slotted Acoustical Panels

Linear grooves milled into the panel face are narrow enough to read as a texture pattern rather than an acoustic treatment. From across the room, the surface looks like one continuous wood plane with fine dark lines. Up close, each groove reveals a deep, dark interior that contrasts sharply against the wood face, giving the surface a rhythmic, striped character.

Under side light, the grooves become more pronounced and the surface takes on a sculptural, three-dimensional quality. Under overhead light, the same surface reads calmer and more uniform. Those grooves are channeling sound energy into absorptive material behind the panel.

Groove width, spacing, and depth all affect how much sound gets through and at which frequencies. Narrower grooves at tighter spacing create a denser visual pattern and broader absorption. Wider spacing opens up the surface for a cleaner look with more targeted performance.

Tongue and groove joinery between panels. Adjacent panels join without visible seams, and the linear grooves continue uninterrupted across panel joints, so the ceiling or wall reads as one continuous wood surface. No exposed grid, no panel-to-panel gaps.

Groove width runs from 1.6mm to 3mm, with spacing from 5mm to 20mm O.C. Both are configurable. If you need a specific O.C. dimension to align with your design module, or a groove profile that produces a particular shadow line, those are standard modifications.

The absorptive backing is factory-integrated into each panel. Panel and backing ship as a single tested assembly. What gets installed is what got tested.

Slotted panels are part of the Mach 4 product family alongside perforated and solid flat panels. All three can be specified in the same project with consistent species, finish, and panel dimensions across the mix.
