Mach 4.1 – Perforated Panels

Sound energy passes through precision-drilled holes in the wood face, hits absorptive material behind the panel, and doesn’t come back. The perforation pattern, hole diameter, and backing material all influence the absorption coefficient. Change any one of those variables and you change acoustic performance.

From across the room, a perforated ceiling reads as warm wood with a soft, stippled texture. Up close, each hole is crisp and precise, with the acoustic backing visible as a dark void behind the wood face. Under side light, tiny shadow rings form around each perforation, giving the surface a subtle dimensional quality that shifts as you move through the space.

Tighter spacing with smaller holes produces a cleaner visual and broad-frequency absorption. Larger holes at wider spacing shift performance toward lower frequencies. The perforations are the gateway. The acoustic backer behind the panel does the actual absorbing. Both are configurable.

Panels arrive factory-finished with perforations drilled to your specified pattern, backed with acoustic material, and ready for installation.

Every Mach 4.1 assembly ships with NRC data tied to its specific perforation pattern and backing configuration. You spec to real numbers, not marketing claims.

Perforation pattern, diameter, and spacing are all configurable. Higher absorption across speech frequencies means a denser pattern. A cleaner visual with fewer visible holes means adjusted diameter and wider spacing. We configure both to hit your acoustic and design targets in the same panel.

The acoustic backing is integrated at the factory. Panel and backer arrive as a coordinated assembly, tested together before they leave our shop. No field-applied acoustic material, no hoping two separate products perform as one.

Panels install on ceiling and wall applications with the same construction, same finish quality, same acoustic performance whether overhead or vertical.
