Stealth – Micro Perforated Panels
Micro-perforated panels work through a different mechanism than standard perforated products. Conventional perforations are large enough to see, typically 3mm to 10mm, and rely on the open area behind the hole for absorption. Micro-perforations are a fraction of that size. At this scale, sound energy is converted to heat through viscous friction as air molecules interact with the hole boundary.
The result is a panel that absorbs sound without any visible evidence of the perforations. From across the room, a Stealth panel is indistinguishable from solid wood paneling. Move closer and the perforations become barely detectable on close inspection, but they’re small enough that the wood grain reads as fully continuous and uninterrupted. Nothing about the surface says “acoustic treatment.” It reads as premium architectural millwork.
The surface absorbs light softly rather than reflecting it, giving the wood a warm, velvety visual quality. Acoustic performance is measurable and testable to ASTM C423.
Documentations
The finish process is what makes micro-perforation work as a product. A matte finish is essential: any gloss or sheen would cause light to catch on the edges of the tiny holes, giving away the perforations. Penetrating stains and controlled application ensure that perforations remain acoustically active after finishing. A conventional spray finish would fill the holes and kill the absorption. Stealth panels use a finishing method engineered specifically for micro-perforated surfaces.
The perforation pattern, hole diameter, and backing material are selected based on the frequencies your space needs to absorb. Low-frequency control requires different backing than speech-range clarity. The full panel assembly is configured to your acoustic consultant’s specifications.
Panel dimensions, perforation spacing, and hole diameter are all configurable. Ceiling, wall, and ceiling-to-wall transition installations use the same panel construction.

Multiple North American hardwood species available. All panels can be custom stain matched to your project’s color palette. Factory finish applied using processes specifically developed for micro-perforated surfaces, ensuring perforations remain acoustically active while the wood surface reads as continuous and uninterrupted.
